Hi, can anyone explain how you make single textures for meshes, that contain all the image data for a whole mesh - almost like an unwrapped skin? Especially in 3ds max! Thanks Si

Um... What?

Create a Texture for a Mesh that contains Images (textures?) for the whole Mesh? How about UV unwrap?

I'm honestly not sure what your trying to get at here. Are you trying to apply different parts of a texture to multiple meshes? If that's the case just use the same material and UV map accordingly.

Sorry, I'm sure you've got a very good question in here somewhere, I'm just having trouble seeing it.

It's the same as the chicken and the egg...

First comes the egg, then the chicken...

a.k.a

First comes the texture, then the model...

or if you prefer, make a dummy texture, skin your model, then redo the texture.

peace. :)
