[web] onerror offiline and online

In Firefox this only works when the page is online. When offline, onerror doesn't fire at all. How can this be? I tried
to test and I'm certain that this is the problem. onerror simply never happens. ?Wuh? I doubt posting the code will shed light but it's at http://www.rf3000.org/maps/versions/1.0/map.html if you're interested. A lot of HTML is generated with document.write so you'd have to crack out the DOM inspector. Please, what's going on? Why should Firefox treat online and offline errors differently?
