Hey guys I started this project a couple days back, working with it offline and moving it to online soon. I've always worked with fullscreen, so I decided to try something in windowed. If you've ever played a tactical game like Shining Forces or something similar, you will probably be farmiliar and fond of these types of games. I'm still working out how the online battle system will function. It's pretty hard to appeal to a large crowd with not only a turnbased battle system, but a tactic like one as well. For those who want something different, here it is. -Can group with up to 10 people. -Limited inventory of 6 items. -Hold up to 10 spells. -You can build your class. -Spell system works much like Shining Forces I posted this here to either generate some interest/ideas or just some general feedback. I know it's 2d, not isometric and everything powergamers hunger for these days ;) but I'm just trying to appeal moreso to the oldschool gamers. Have an ideas? Thoughts? Concerns? Flames? ;) Post them for me. Screenies http://www.freewebs.com/theprophecyseries/screen2.GIF http://www.freewebs.com/theprophecyseries/Screen1.GIF

I like it. A lot. The graphics are clean, consistant, and the elegant menus look very professional. I'd also mention that I'm a total evangelistical follower of the tactical RPG genre, so I'm rooting for you every step of the way. :D

I'm not too sure about how well this will fare in an online environment, especially with players who take a long time with their turns. It would be like online Chess but with waiting for more players. :/

Still, I'm quite interested in your project. Do you (or WILL you) have a website or development log for ANC? Keep us posted as this develops. :)
Thanks for the feedback. The graphics are currently ripped from Shining Force. I didn't bother with development of sprites or graphics.

I am aware of the time issue. This might involve me implenting a time restraint. (Say a minute per turn?) Which still can lead to a long game. You will be able to hire NPC's as well, which you can control yourself. This may or may not work, which is fine. I just want to give it a shot. Who knows, maybe something new may be good.
Hey,

I'm back again, hope this isn't taboo to bring back an "old" post. :P

I just finished up with the basic database and online components. You can walk and talk. :) Yay for Shining Force. Anyways, I'm still having some trouble with the Pathfinding AI, but hopefully I'll get it figured out soon. I just wanted to keep everyone updated on its progress.

If you have any ideas, drop a reply. :) Thanks.

Hey guys, I'm looking for some casual testers. I need people who don't mind being sent a new client file every once in a while (small download) and who can be creative in "new" ideas and good at catching errors or bugs that they might find. You can add me to msn at chrisposkus@hotmail.com or go to the website to check it out at

Thanks again!
