I'm still a little new to Subversion and need some help with the ignore property. I've got a Visual Studio project I'm working on. I'm trying to get Subverison to Ignore the Debug and Release folders. If I've been reading the manual correctly, the proper command to ignore the directory right out would be something like svn propset svn:ignore Debug . (assuming I was in the root project folder). and get the following response: property 'svn:ignore' set on '.' Which the manual seem to say is correct. Yet everytime I run an commit, it seems to keep submitting the changes. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

You can't ignore already committed files/folders. Only the add procedure is affected by the ignore filter. You'll need to delete the Debug and Release folders from the repository.
