Array pointers performance.

Hi there, Let's say I have a vertex and fragment program that make use only of POSITION and TEXCOORD0 array. If I would enable all my tex coord arrays and pass some data to the streams - would that affect performance of rendering? I made some tests and did notice only something like 0,8 fps hit (from 135fps to 135.8fps). I also tried adding fake TEXCOORDx streams in shaders but it didn't affect performance (maybe because of cg compiler optimizations). So it looks like the only cost (minimal) is due to enabling/disabling coord pointers and setting streams data, and gpu is performing calculations even when pointers are disabled (I think so because I don't get any fps hit). Is this behaviour typical only to my gpu (gf6600)? Wouldn't I get a noticable performance hit on older gpu's?
