fast moving (just an idea)

I have an idea of something about movement in multiplayer. Maybe it is already implemented in games or maybe not. Tell me what you think of that. Every time user moves on client, delta movement is sent to server. When server receives that it just handles that delta movement with ProcessInput. Every 100 miliseconds or more server sends locations to clients. And client when receives this location message does interpolation for objects not controllnig, and for controlled or so called input object checks to see if it is too far from current position, if it is than move input object to this new location received from server.if it is not than do nothing. Comments please...

Read through the descriptions in the Forum FAQ for more variants on how this could be done. What you're describing is similar to how QuakeWorld and Quake II did it.
