What are you asking for? Do you want to know how to export a file from 3DS Max to a .X file? Or do you want to know how to load and render a .X file?

The general idea is that you use 3D-modeling applications like 3D Max to model, texture and animate your models.

After you're done modeling and animating, you need to export your work to any fileformat that supports animated models (there are a lot of these, but in your case I'd recomend the .x format which is a format DirectX has a lot of good helpfunctions for.

Then, in your game, you load the file that you exported your 3D Max model to. How this looks in-code depends on what fileformat you used, but there are a lot of DirectX functions to help you with this.

I recommend exporting to .x using the panda directx exporter.

(website says no support for max 7, however I have not had any trouble)

If you need help loading the actual file once you have exported it chapter 4 of my tutorials covers loading, storing and rendering .x file models.
