OpenGL Euclidean - hyperbolic projection?

I am sorry if this has been discussed before - I've had no luck finding any info. I would like to develop a simple Projection of 2D Euclidean space onto a 2D hyperbolic plane. Does that make sense? Is there a simple way to do this in OpenGL? My goal is to try to make a simple data organizer/study assistant for school. And I think that one of those hyperbolic browsers would be an interesting avenue to explore. Thanks! Jon
