OpenGL What's the best way to keep an OpenGL object from moving off the screen?

Let's say i have a 3d shape and I want it to move around, but I don't want it to move off the screen, what's the best way to have it bounce off the edges? I'm using SDL as my API.

Easiest is to just use an orthogonal view so that the frustum planes are axis aligned then if (x<minx) x=2*minx-x for the left plane and similarly for the other planes. You havet to reverse the appropriate component of the velocity or you'll hit the wall then slide along it.
