.X file....free for game development
I know that the .X file is free for use, but what if the game becomes marketable? I googled about it, but came up with nothing. Can the .X file format be used for an application that is being sold or this violate some copyright? I'm working on creating a game right now, but this is one thought I came across that might cause problems down the road.

As an extension of Promit's kind reply. Normally a model is copyrighted as it's a model that has been created by an artist. You are free to do with the .x file format what you want and create models and use them freely within your games.
I hope this helps.
Take care.
