porting msvc++ projects to dev-c++

i have a very big problem. i use dev-c++ and almost every time i try to compile something that was made in msvc++, i'll get an error no matter how hard i try to port it over to dev-c++. can anybody tell me a sure-fire way on how to port a msvc++ project to dev-c++. any help is appreciated a lot.

File->Import->Visual C++. Is that the method you were using? Like Dev-C++ says, you may have to tweak your project a lottle before it compiles.
