DirectX with dev-cpp

Im trieng to use directx with devc++. I finaly worked my way around all the annoying errors exept for 1. lib/main.o(.text+0x390):main.cpp: undefined reference to `DirectDrawCreateEx@16' How to fix that?? [Edited by - crazykid48x on November 22, 2005 9:07:10 PM]

As far as I know, they've had to remove the GCC compatible DirectX libs.

Meaning you need to use a Microsoft Compiler.

(For your error, just including ddraw.lib should be the one).

I tried using DirectX with Dev-Cpp and although it worked, it often took me a while to get rid of all the errors. You can just download Code::Blocks IDE, Microsoft Visual Toolkit 2003, and the Microsoft Platform SDK (all free). That is what I use now and it works really well.

You can use DirectX with Dev-C++, as Dev-C++ accepts both .a and .lib libraries.

You need to link in ddraw.lib to your project, this will allow you to use DirectDraw.
