why should we care?

It is eady to login as Anonymous and Troll.

----
OK, well it says hge at sf.net and it seems you can download it, but is it legit? cause the original hge.relishgames.com says nothing about this change. Let me check better.

---
Edit:
hmnn It has gotten the source code too and the project admin seems to be Haaf himself, But it is weird that no information about this can be found in hge.relishgames.com

---
Edit 2:

It is legit haaf announced it on the forum quite great, too bad I already switched to SDL just today. Haaf should update the page and make the sf.net page link to it.

And anyone who wants info about this engine, it is a 2D engine that encapsullates directx it is well documented and makes everything much easier, and has 4 blending modes I think.

We all love hge, but avoid triple posting man.

It was really helpful when starting game dev. on c++. And these are great news cause the source would be good to check when I start directx learning

When you release something without any links to doc's or screenshots it is really hard to care about it. Just seems like Yet Another 2D Game engine. Instead of saying why this game engine is so great, you just call me a troll. What little desire I once had to use this has now gone down the drain.

Way to post as an anonymous poster... As for calling Haaf's Game Engine "Yet Another 2D Game engine", you'd be entirely incorrect as HGE has been around for quite a while and has quite the large user base.
