Stretching and bending Spheres and Cubes...

Have you ever thought of making a cube or sphere with auxSolidSphere(float Radius); or auxSolidCube(float Size);? Stretching it. I don't know if any of you have done this or if this might help. This took the stress off of me.
glScalef(3.5f, 3.5f, 5.2f); //Just screwing with the square

//Or to shrink circles or bend them for an explosion?

glScalef(5.5f, 6.5f, 5.5f); //Once again, just bending it to my liking
