I thought Japan might be neat at one time (except that whole language barrier thing), until I read this
That's a lot to read! Can you point out any specific entries worth (funny/shocking enough) reading?
Upstate New York, deep in the forest near the Cat Skills mountain. In a nice log cabin, far away from anyone.
1) Hawaii ( one of the lesser populated islands )
1) A city where I don't have to drive 3 1/2hrs to go snowboarding.

The Catskills are in southeastern NY. Upstate are the Adirondacks, which totally pwn the Catskills. Just make sure you don't go in too deep unless you hate civilization, because it's seriously low population density; you'll easily be the only person for a few miles.

pick one at random, they're all shocking/funny. But Requiem for a Legacy is particularly indicative of the trend of the stories. It's important to note that the events in the stories are not isolated. They just happen to be one event in a constant series of events that happens to be particularly fresh in the author's mind.
See, I've never thought about where I really want to live. I moved around all the time as a kid, so one place is as good as another unless there are some negative circumstances, such as racism or a high cost of living.
We'll see what happens once I'm married off and the girl wants to move. :\
