Compiling projects using openGL

I got a new book today about openGL (Beginning OpenGL Game Programming) and I don’t know how to compile any of the source in it. When I compile regular C++ I use dev C++ and it works but when I try openGL stuff it doesn’t. I think I have to include the openGL library but I don’t know how. Any help would be appreciated.

then, in the Project Options dialog, Parameters tab, in the Linker textbox, add the line

-lopengl32

this will link your project with the opengl library.

if you want to link with glut, us

-lglut32 or -lfreeglut or -lopenglut

if you want to use glu, its

-lglu32

I am still unable to compile even after linking those files so maybe it is the actual source so if any one feels like testing it here is the code right out of the book.

what errors are you getting? Do they seem to be related to openGL, or are they more general than that?
