I would like to render some good ripple able to combine themself like the onces on Morrowind that we can see on the fellowing screenshot. Is anybody know how they work or do you know a sample or a paper that explains ripples? Chears!

Okay 2 things come to mind..



However i dont see any reflection only ligh displacement which leads me to think of perhaps polygon tesselation.

Take a look at at you will see when you hit spacebar that it simulates the wave function..

All that you need to add is the colouring, and this can be done with the correct texture and bump mapping, which obviously suggests that you need to setup lighting.

None the less the best results will be returned with pixel shaders as that program tesselates the water with polygons, basically a pixel shader just tesselates it with pixels... ON THE GPU's resources not the CPU
