Adding Sound/Music libs

Hi. I'm not sure about right forum, but. My engine and game almost done, but i'm not sure how to choose right format for sound and music. Now all my tracks stored in mp3 and sound in wav. Right now i don't care about any size of sounds. It takes about 1.5 - 2 MB and i'm happy with that. Well, since it's my first game (i mean home made game) and i don't have enough money for any BASS or FMOD libs. I've choosed Audiere. It's free and simple. But in novadays i'm little bit confused with licensing etc... So, the question: mp3 format is free ? Can i use it in my games for free? (Audiere able to play it). May be ogg is better in this case. For me it's not a problem to switch to ogg, i just want to know for sure about mp3. Any other advices for sound/music playback and format are welcome! Thanks!

There is a $2500 license fee to make a game support MP3. I'd strongly recommend an Ogg format over MP3. Ogg Vorbis has better quality and better compression.
