Please Help! I having touble playing my GOTHIC II game. I played the game nearly nine months ago on this same computer and it ran fine now when I try to start the program i get the following error message right when the program tries to go full screen: C:zMusic_DM.cpp(zCMusicSys_DirectMusic::Init() ) Failed to initialize synth! One thing I noticed in the DirectX Diagnostic Tool is that under the tab music is that Microsoft Synthesizer is the Default port and it shouldn't be, I don't know how to change the default port. Plus when I test direct sound with the ms synth I don't hear music and is says: DirectMusic test results: Failure at step 5 (Creating the IDirectMusicPort): HRESULT =0x90040154(Class not registered) The following registery keys are missing: HKCR\Microsoft.DirectMusicSynthSink.1\CLSID HKCR\Microsoft.DirectMusicSynthSink.1 HKCR\Microsoft.DirectMusicSynthSink\CurVer HKCR\Microsoft.DirectMusicSynthSink\CLSID HKCR\Microsoft.DirectMusicSynthSink HKCR\CLSID\{AEC17CE3-A514-11D1-AFA6-00AA0024D8B6}\VersionIndependentProgID HKCR\CLSID\{AEC17CE3-A514-11D1-AFA6-00AA0024D8B6}\ProgID HKCR\CLSID\{AEC17CE3-A514-11D1-AFA6-00AA0024D8B6}\InprocServer32 HKCR\CLSID\{AEC17CE3-A514-11D1-AFA6-00AA0024D8B6}\InprocServer32 HKCR\CLSID\{AEC17CE3-A514-11D1-AFA6-00AA0024D8B6}\InprocServer32 HKCR\CLSID\{AEC17CE3-A514-11D1-AFA6-00AA0024D8B6} Then when I test DirectMusic with any of the three M-Audio Delta 44 ports I hear the music. Sound is working perfectly fine in all other aspects. I am running ver. of Gothic II. I have downloaded all windows system updates. My system specs: AMD Athlon ~1.2 Ghz 512 MB RAM Radeon 9550 Catalyst 5.11 M Audio 44 ver. Direct X 9.0c
