Replacing SkyBox with SkyDome

Hey guys, I am currently trying to replace my skybox with a skydome and have run into some problems, have found very few DirectX related skydome tutorials so though I would give it a post. I started out by trying to render my skydome exactly how I did my skybox, loading a .x file, texturing the inside and setting a special view matrix so that the camera will never get closer to it. This unfortunately didn’t work so I gave up on it and searched for tutorials. I started following this tutorial http://www.spheregames.com/articles.asp on how to create a sky sphere but have not been getting the expected results (problems texturing, skysphere out of proportion) Could anyone give me any advice on the best way to achieve impressive looking sky’s with moving clouds? Any links to DirectX specific tutorials would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
