Hello! For some models I use "glMaterialfv(...)". The problem is, that after using glMaterialfv the whole scene is influenced (much brighter). Is there a way to switch of "glMaterialfv" after using it? thanks,

Perhapes this is what your looking for...

glPushAttrib(GL_LIGHTING_BIT);//saves current lighting stuff
glMaterialfv(...);
...draw stuff...
glPopAttrib();//restores lighting stuff to the way it was earlier before changed
