Hello, im writing a scientific paper, which also covers managed directx 9.0c. for this paper i also write some applications with managed directx 9, which use some framework classes from the common folder included in the SDK samples (for example the class Enumeration). i changed about 10% of the sourcecode. the question is now: is it allowed to use these framework classes from the DirectX 9 SDK to use it in small non-commercial applications for a university paper? thanks!

I'm pretty sure you can do whatever you want with the included source code (samples as well).

The part to be careful over is redistributing the binaries/runtimes - such as the D3DX DLL's and the end-user runtime parts.. You have to do that properly within the licence.
