Movie playback in d3d application?

Hey ppl. Im currently developing an rpg game using directx and microsofts directx application template, DXUT. (c++) I need to play an .avi file in one of the dialogs, which is a d3d window, but im not sure of how to accomplish this... Ive been looking around for various methods of playing a movie file, but never found a simple class or header that i can intergrate into my application. It doesnt have to be advanced, dont need need any complex functions, just load, play and stop basically :P So im looking for suggestions of which headers and libraries i can use for easy implementation of a movie. Is the WMP 10 sdk a good choice here, or perhaps DirectShow? Help me out :)
