Degenerate Triangles

I am rendering my terrain in one call and have degenerate triangles using triangle strips. Now when I render my terrain and have water over the edge I have a black line around my edge. As of now my fix is to change
glClearColor();

is that the correct way to fix the problem? As of now it took care of my issue but seems like a hack. Thanks

If you had posted screenshots of the actual problem.. written down what you changed the glClearColor to, and from.. such things help.

I don't feel like guessing, so give us (me anyhow) screenshots and I will try and help. :D
