Recommended Posts

Google 'line circle intersection' or 'ray circle intersection'. You can also try 'ray sphere intersection' (which may get more hits) as the algorithm is the same. Or, to figure it out yourself, plug the parametric form for the line into the circle equation in squared form, and solve the resulting quadratic.
