HLSL intrinsic object in effect framework

It seem HLSL intrinsic object is not all shader intrinsic instruction. for example texture object represented an IDirect3DTexture9 object. So I think HLSL language consist of two part. 1 shader stuff (video card instruction and video memory) 2 d3d interface it represent some d3d interface for conivence usage.

I noticed once that the effect framwork has actually been around since before shaders, I think effects can be used for wrapping anything (possibly), maybe they were used with fixed function things before. Anyway you are right effects are not dependant on HLSL, whether HLSL is dependant on the effect interface (for wrapping as you say), I don't know.
