I've recently read 2 books that brought up the subject, but the first one didn't go that deep, and the other had some errors in the example code which made it almost impossible to understand. So please let me know if you got any good info on fuzzy logic, sets and systems.

I did a little thing on Fuzzy Logic in my journal. Don't know if it's any good but you can take a look. Click Me

oh ..one more thing

How do I compute the DOF for a rule that has other operators than AND, like OR, XOR and NOT?

The one I show is Takagi-Sugeno so it only uses AND and NOT. There for (edit: or the more commonly used Therefore), if you have

If A or B = If not (not A and not B)

where you take 1-uA(x) for not A.

XOR(A,B) = (A or B) and (not A or not B) =
(not(not A and not B)) and (not(A and B))

ok

what is the 'u' in that?

as for the OR operator ..does it suond reasonable to use a max func for that?
so..

if A and (B or C) then DOF = A(x) * max(B(x), C(x));

The u represents the fuzzy membership function.
Sure, you can use max for or and min for and.
Sorry have to be terse, back to work.
