Learning Visual Basic 2005 Express
Hello,
I'm trying to learn VB.net, specifically Visual Basic 2005 Express (which is now totally free) and although I have some programming experience, I have no experience using VB at all. Most of the online tutorials I found using Google were for VB5 or VB6 and only a very few were for VB.net. And I found zero VB.net 2005 tutorials that are free (I did find some VERY expensive ones though).
What I really need is a primer. I found the best primer ever for C++ (a book by Stephen Prata) but I can't find a good primer for VB.net.
Any suggestions or links would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
EDIT: To forestall the question "Why learn VB.net when you can code in C++?", I'm using a 3rd party SDK that uses VB for rapid prototyping. So I need to learn at least the basics of VB.net pronto.
Well...if you are desperate you can look up some C# tutorials, go to MSDN, and look up every function for their VB.NET equivilant.
This may be of use to you as well

I'm checking out the startvbdotnet link now...

You might also want to check out the Visual Basic 2005 Step by Step book from Microsoft, they are usually quite good for a beginner.
