Hello! I need some assistance in compiling this article. After writing the exact content, and going trough the usual bugs(spelling for example), I find myself unable to supply the answer to the error. This is how it goes:
  .drectve `/DEFAULTLIB:"uuid.lib" /DEFAULTLIB:"uuid.lib" ' unrecognized

About 24 times. And then this jumps up:
[Linker error] undefined reference to `Direct3DCreate9@4'

Wich I understand, but i'm sure I linked d3d9.lib and d3dx9.lib under the parametres tab in project settings. And then some lines with this error shows up:
[Linker error] undefined reference to `_except_list'

Wich I don't understand a bit of. I have included the SDL libraries(?) with -lSDLmain and -lSDL in the project settings. I also include the right headers I believe: windows.h, d3d9.h, d3dx9.h and SDL/SDL.h. I can supply code if you wish me to do so. Thanks in advance!

Are you using DevC++? My guess is that devc++ has some problem with direct 3d.

Consider either downloading visual c++ express (free) or the newest version of devc++.

Hi,

I personally haven't used dev-cpp for anything really, so this might be incorrect, but I was under the impression that dev-cpp didn't use .lib files but instead had .a files for the libraries. I also recall hearing about a .lib to .a converter out there.

All the best,
ViLiO
