The example room used in the portal demo is in pro format. Does the conversion from 3ds to pro use bsp trees? I''m building a large inside area and would like to know if some optimizations are done for running around in it. 10000 polys might slow things down?

You need to load up the .3ds used in the portal demo to see how it works. All sections must be convex and no BSP trees are used.
Since this requires making the portals by hand it''s not a good way to make large complicated indoor levels. I see the portal engine more useful for racing type games where you have a track that must be followed, divided into sections.

I have a bsp compiler, any chance of PR being able to read the polys? Could I get access to the rendering portion and feed the VBs directly?
Chris, do you think you will add BSP support to the portal engine, I really need to try and have nice terrain with some buildings which can be entered and have a complex indoor structure.?
