Hello, I am wondering about the amount of texture units I am able to use, for I ran into an weired issue: I am using a NVidia 6600 GT and as far as I found out on the net, this card has 8 texture units. But when I ask "glGetIntegerv(GL_MAX_TEXTURE_UNITS, &maxTexUnits)" it tells me that I have only 4 texture units. The interesting thing is: I can use more than 4 (e.g.) and it's still working. So why does OpenGL tell me that I have just 4 Units available, though I obviously have more? And how can I find out how many units I really can use?
