I recently finished my first major 3D model (see http://www.gamedev.net/community/forums/topic.asp?topic_id=369824 or http://home.comcast.net/~joobot/my_3d.zip), and now I need to skin it. I've successfull UVW mapped it and exported it to Photoshop. Now I'm stuck. I have no Photoshop experience and don't even know when a tutorial is the right one to teach me. Can someone direct me to a tutorial teaching me how to skin an exported UVW map or at least the basics of Photoshop?

dodge shades the image with light

I ahd to read it twice to undterstnd what you were saying but that's really all the tools I need I think. Thanks.
Just as being a 3ds expert won't help you model humans much, being a photoshop expert won't help you paint textures much. Being good at drawing, especially in charcoal, will help you much, though not to the degree as a painting class would. You can kill two birds with one stone and take a couple figure drawing classes and get anatomical skills and drawing/painting skills.
