Rendering water

Hi! I''ve got a little problem: I''m currently working on a terrain renderer and now I want to introduce water; at the moment my water surface is just a flat plane. That doesn''t look too impressive yet, so I think that some specular highlights could do the trick. I''ve got a nice picture in my head: you''re looking on the sea in the evening and you can sea the sun light reflected on the water surface in front of you; I think everybody can imagine that picture So now my question: How can I do that without using GL-lighting; are there any ways to simulate these specular highlights with mulpipass-rendering? Thanks in advance LaBasX2

Take a look at the texturing technique used here, http://www.3dpipeline.com
After checking out the site it seems they are`nt saying much about their ocean renderer anymore, I happen to have a demo so mail me if you want it (or even just some screenshots).
Hi!

I''ve found the document at the adress you''ve given me. It''s still available.

Thanks for your help!
