OnMouseWheel Message Question

I'm trying to map some functionality to the mouse wheel. However, the window does not seem to get the OnMouseWheel message. I get all the mouse clicks and mouse move messages. Do I need to call SetFocus when I get the mouse click message? It seemed so easy. Thanks. VC++ with MFC and OpenGL

I use the message pump.

BEGIN_MESSAGE_MAP(...)
....
....
ON_WM_MOUSEWHEEL()
END_MESSAGE_MAP()


After placing a trace inside WindowProc, I get the VSCROLL message when I use the mouse wheel!?
