Has anyone seen a simple tutorial which shows how to load and render a Quake 3 map using its BSP and PVS information? (No shaders or lightmaps, just textured polygons.)

MrBig,

what i can you offer from my favorites, is:

Rendering Q3A maps:
http://graphics.cs.brown.edu/games/quake/quake3.html

additionally, a site containing some information on the Q3Aspecific shaders:
http://home.planet.nl/~monstrous/tutshader.html

Another location coming to my mind is gametutorials.com, there is a tutorial online regarding loading&rendering of Q3A maps: http://www.gametutorials.com
