Is it possible to run a Direct3d only game on OpenGL somehow? I am addicted to AC (Asheron''s Call). Been playing it for more than a year now. But game is slow..even on my super fast machine. I belive this is cause the game is D3D only. Is there any way to run it under Glide. Newbie here..

Although OpenGL->D3D and Glide->D3D wrappers exist, I have never seen a D3D->Glide/OpenGL wrapper, so you''re probably out of luck. And using a wrapper is usually kinda slow anyway.

No, not easily at least. I used to play Asheron''s Call at my max resolution (1024x768) with all the settings at the max, and had no problem outside of the vaults (you know what I mean if you''ve been to one =P). I have a 500Mhz CPU and Riva TNT2 M64 32MB (i.e. a budget card ), that used to be with Win98 and DirectX 7.0a; I know have Win2K and DX8, and I don''t play AC anymore...

What type of video card do you have?
