OpenGL Low poly modeller with OpenGL..!?

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone has or knows of a website that has a lot of information about OpenGL''s selection buffer... ( i think that''s what it''s called! ) I would like to create a simple low-poly 3d modeller with OpenGL... i read someplace that you can do it with a selection buffer. Maybe someone could help me out? Any help at all would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks! -Shane Parker

u use the selection buffer to see what polygons are under a certain part of the screen which may/maynot be of use in a polygon modeller.
more info is in the red book
also a few examples are in the glut distribution
