Setting Window Priority
I have read that you can speed up your game/demo whatever by changing its priority class. By finding it process ID
HANDLE hProc; //
hProc = GetCurrentProcess(); // Find process ID
Then by adding one of the options below you can change its priority, thus if I set my games priority to the bottom one: REALTIME_PRIORITY_CLASS my game will perform better.
//Set process priority
SetPriorityClass(hProc,IDLE_PRIORITY_CLASS); // low priority
SetPriorityClass(hProc,NORMAL_PRIORITY_CLASS); // normal
SetPriorityClass(hProc,HIGH_PRIORITY_CLASS); // high
SetPriorityClass(hProc,REALTIME_PRIORITY_CLASS); // Ultra high!
My question is... If I change the priority class can I damage anything i.e my computer? I know what changing the priority class on speeds up performance and may/will make key/mouse inputs slower.
Many Thanks
Alan
