I just want to play around with a simple 3d modeler like TrueSpace. Any recommendations for me. I''d like to use it for rendering images which I then want to use in my programs.

Sorry, but I fogot to mention that it should be freeware. And I think TrueSpace isn''t for free at all, is it?

For a full featured 3D modeller/animator try Blender.

Also, check out Anim8or. Its native file format is text based so you can easily convert it to your own format.
