Hay, is there any good links to tutorials about writing exporters for MAX (particulary version 5). I find few exporters that are writen to export scene to pure txt files (just vertices, faces, uv) but I need something with more information (except maxsdk help). Thanks, Zaharije Pasalic

You can write an exporter using maxscript. I have done this for my file format. I couldn't find much in the way of tutorials, but if you want to look through my export script I can post it up for you.

Hi, you can download a zip file with the scripts and doc file describing the model file format here.

Oh, BTW this runs in version 7, but I don't think there is too much in there that's 7 specific.

Good luck.

You can try using IGame. It's a high-level MAX API wrapper that's easy to use.
Oh and btw. there's plenty of documentation for it. (sparks.discreet.com)
