I was wondering with sound file, is the sound data the same in all file, just the way it is store like compression, I was wondering if it was like image file where the image data is the same in .bmp and .tga but the compression and header is different with those.

????

What type of sound file are you talking about? wav/mp3/vag?

The sound format will be completely dependent on the file type i.e. it could be uncompressed, compressed loseless , compressed losy , sounds samples etc.

There are a great many sound file types out there.

You need to be more specific in your question,
Paul
From what I understand, yes, you can think of it that way on a high level. A vast simplification:

When using a png/jpg/etc you'll extract the image data into a bitmap (though an actual .bmp adds a little header to it).

When using an mp3/ogg you'll extract the sound data into a waveform (though an actual .wav adds a little header to it).

Similarly, bitmaps will differ slightly (what's the color depth?) as will waveforms (how many samples per second?).

Sorry you did not understand paul but telastyn seem to undestand and thanks for the help.
ok so you wanted a realllly simple description.
