Is there a way to plaster a texture onto a surface (in my case, a dome) with no uv coordinates? I would like to add a sun to my skydome, and have a vector to the place the sun is supposed to go, and a color (the texture is white w/ alpha .dds), it just needs to be plastered onto the wall somehow. How would I do this efficiently without having to find and deal with the uv's (I can use shader 3.0) ?

I would just render a billboarded quad at the sun's position with the sun's texture. Try and look into that and see what the results are?

You could always use perspective texturing to render the sun on the dome, but that's overkill (without a doubt) and wont even give desirable results I think.
