Hi, Can anyone recommend any software for viewing x files? Preferably free! :) We need something for our artists to test their models in x format. Many Thanks Simon

The DirectX SDK comes with a mesh viewer that you can import .x files into.

Yes, I am aware of mesh viewer, but I dont want to have to expect my artists to install the DXSDK, just to use meshviewer.

We tried running it on their machine but it doesn't work.

Deep Exploration (Open in IE)... but it is not free.

Couldn't you just write your own mesh viewer application? I mean, if you're just looking for something to load and display models, then it shouldn't be very difficult. It's just a suggestion. =)

Waldo is right! Haha, the obvious ones are the best!

If I haven't got time, then I'll probably use quick3d, viewer is pretty cheap.
