Could some1 please tell me how to correct my script so it supports special characters like åäö, right now these characters are replaced with a ?, could the problem be that im using the wrong codepage, the script looks something like this: <% Dim con, url, data url = Request.QueryString("xml") Set con = Server.CreateObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP") con.Open "GET",url,False con.Send() data = con.responseText Response.ContentType = "text/xml" Response.Write(data) Set con = Nothing %>

Does the original document have the correct encoding set on it?

Web browsers are evil, they have various behaviours in which compensate for web developers' incompetence.

Machine-machine communications generally require correct headers etc, set or they will interpret the data incorrectly.

Look at the headers etc, of the original document. Save it out, inspect it, ensure that it's encoded how it says it is.

Then try again.

something with the encoding
maybe you could try to force the browser to use UTF-8 encoding and save your file in UTF-8 encoding
