Fogging Effects in DirectX9 (C++ & UMDX)

How would I do fogging effects on my polygons in DirectX9 (I'm using Visual C++7 and Unmanaged Code)? I've been through many programming tutorial sites and haven't seen anything on how to do vertex and pixel fog (I haven't learned shaders yet - so can you help me out using fixed-function concepts). Can someone please refer me to a tutorial on how to use fogging? Thanks in advance. -DragonGeo2
