Toroidal Vertex Buffers

Hi, Being a recent convert from geo-mipmapping to -clipmapping, I am doing my homework.... I'm a bit confused on the implementation of toroidal memory. Let me see if I have any idea: A toroidal buffer is essentially a 'wrap-around' buffer. In geoclipmapping, the active region is represented by one, and updated as the viewpoint moves. If the viewpoint moves right, the left hand edge of the 2d buffer becomes obsolete. New data on the 'righthand' side is loaded into this region. The data can be accessed using modulus. Its this process which puzzles me. Can anyone help? Thanks Simon
