Wanting to write a Maya Exporter (.X info)

I'm wanting to write a simple upgrade to The .x exporter for Maya, so that i can use it in my game engine(based off of Irrlicht). The thing is I want to write the exporter in a MEL script. What i need is the source code file of the .x exporter for Maya that was released back at the begining of DX 9.0, before they added the embeded DX shader system in maya. I need to exporter file for the version that just had animation, and single texture. I hope this is understandable enough. Thanks greatly
