no automatic texture coordinate genration in DX9?

i just wanna be confirmed that the texture coordiante generation (automatic) which was previously in DX8 and previous version is now completly non-existent, so i am forced to use vertex shaders to make them?? if they are still available, somebody could tell me how?

hi,

as far as I know, it works the same way as it worked in dx8. why do you think it disappeared?

here is a snippet that works me in both dx8 and 9 (generates coords for cubic environment mapping):

SetTextureStageState(p_stage, D3DTSS_TEXCOORDINDEX, D3DTSS_TCI_CAMERASPACEREFLECTIONVECTOR | 3);
SetTextureStageState(p_stage, D3DTSS_TEXTURETRANSFORMFLAGS, D3DTTFF_COUNT3);
