I have a working app. on the Samsung D600 using MIDP1. When I rebuild it using the MIDP2 libraries, my softkey labels vanish! The keys themselves are still fully functional, but they have no labels. Is there a way around this? Or should I be using full-screen mode? If so, what's the best way to do this? Thanks.

Are you adding Commands and the labels aren't showing up?

Are you setting the screen to fullscreen mode (calling Canvas.setFullScreenMode(true))?

Hi shmoove, thanks for the quick reply.

Yep, I use a canvas and have a commandlistener waiting for the softkeys.
Everything's perfect if I build with MIDP1. The command bar goes cyan and my labels show up when I want them to, and do the appropriate things.
If I build with MIDP2, then the keys still behave as they should but the command bar is always black with no labels.

Just tried adding canvas.setFullScreenMode(true); but there's no change.
Mind you, I'm not using gamecanvas - just canvas...

Oops - I had canvas.setFullScreenMode(true); in the wrong place.
It's back in now, but I'm still not using GameCanvas.

So I've now had to draw my own softkeys and enlarge my background images.
A bit of a pain, but a viable alternative.

A shame it didn't work in the first place.

Thanks for the help shmoove.
