I can use a debugger to step into functions like strlen and strcpy but when I try to step into CreateWindowExA the debugger skips over it. Anyone know why? -Visual C++ 2003

This is just a guess, as I have no experience with windows programming yet, but it could be that the platform SDK only includes the object code, or already-compiled libraries, so there is no source code available to "step into".

I base this on... absolutely nothing.

BTownTKD is correct. The source code for standard library routines is provided. CreateWindowExA is not, however, a C/C++ standard library routine - it is a Windows function. Visual Studio does not, for hopefully obvious reasons, include the source code for Windows [wink]
